Ciné Rétro - Festival of the Silent Cinema
From July 30 to August 27, 2011
Ciné Rétro should be understood as a tribute to the burlesque spirit of the directors and stars of the silent cinema, the generation of Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton.
Conceived as comprehensive entertainment aimed at the young and the old alike, Ciné Rétro is an invitation to re-discover the cinema of the 1920s with its exceptional short films as well as its great successes.
However, the spirit of Ciné Rétro reaches far beyond the simple showing of films: The scene is set in the former baroque chapel of the Carmelite nuns of Beaune, thus providing a true "beginning of the century" style atmosphere. |
