Restaurants – a new star in Beaune
Chef Christophe Canati from the Clos du Cèdre gains recognition in the Michelin Guide 2013

“I love making people happy with my cuisine – it’s as simple as that” – such is the philosophy of chef Christophe Canati. Originally from Normandy, he took up residence in the Clos du Cèdre – the gastronomic restaurant of the Hostellerie Le Cèdre***** – in March 2012. His travels around France included stopping off in Saint-Emilion in Bordeaux, where he gained his first star in the Hostellerie de Plaisance. His new home of choice, Burgundy, is somewhere he now knows quite well, having spent some time in Joigny, Vonnas (for George Blanc), and two years working with Bernard Loiseau.

Tourist sites – the Cassissium blooms again in 2013
Refurbishment work carried out over the winter means that Nuits-Saint-Georges is even better prepared to welcome visitors

The Cassissium, the museum that’s been wholly dedicated to blackcurrants in Nuits-Saint-Georges since 2001, has been transformed to ensure it always fully meets the needs of its visitors. Twelve years after it opened, the Cassissium began its metamorphosis during the winter months, allowing it to bloom again in all its glory in April, like a blackcurrant bush after its winter sleep…

“L’ETAPE” in Santenay

There’s a new place to stay at the crossroads of the Green Route and the Wine Route

Santenay’s new “L’ETAPE” is aimed at cyclotourists, hikers and families, offering 14 rooms in total (including triple and family rooms as well as a ground-floor room that’s accessible to handicapped people). This new accommodation comes complete with its own restaurant – in high season, seating will be available for 100 diners (with two sittings on offer, midday and evening). The bar, open all day, offers customers refreshments in a central location on Fountain Square in the middle of the village.
